Hi All,
One Plus a fairly new company launched its flagship product
last year called the One Plus One. I own one myself and felt the great burden
to share a full fledged review on my blog about this one of a kind gadget.
Pros:
- Competitive
price (21,000 INR or 300 USD)
- Elegant 5.5 inch display screen
- Task
churning 3 GB RAM
- In
depth 1080 x 1920 pixels (~401 ppi pixel density)
- Powerful
Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400
- Accurate
13 MP front camera, 4128 x 3096 pixels, autofocus, dual-LED flash
Cons:
- No expandable card slot
- Poor after sales support
- Poor marketing strategies
- No dual SIM card slot
Overall the product is a masterpiece, what the company lacks
though is after sales service. I am a forum member on One Plus One and found
the entire site to be filled with complaints around how phones with issues
still have problems instead of resolution. Additionally even though there is a
clear focus from senior members to bring this problem to its end there is a lot
of scope for improvement.
One of the beautiful things I felt about this company was
their sales strategy, it’s important to note that money makes many things but
in the world of One Plus One Invite makes many things possible. The company has
now shifted to the new flash sales and open sales model, but when the invite
sales strategy was on the kind of helping nature I saw amongst forum members is
a rare phenomenon in present day.
One Plus is due to
launch their second product which is simple named One Plus 2. Hope they are
able to work on their mistakes post the launch of this second product. One
thing is for clear if the company needs to survive in a country like India they
need to step up in terms of after sales support too. Please post any comments
or tips for me to improve in my future posts. Thanks everyone.
